Advanced edits to the Blog page of Squarespace's Tudor template

Sometimes you don't want dates published on your blogs. For instance, I have a resources section of my blog where the post date isn't important to display. So I wanted to hide the date—but not across my whole website.

That will bring up a settings window and you'll want Advanced settings because we're going to need Page Header Code Injection where we'll enter this code. The actual work is being done by the <style> tags and what comes between the brackets after time and .entry-content. Most everything else is helpful notes so you can remember what this was for in the future.

<!-- -- CSS -- -->
<style>
    /* Do not display the time on the blog page */
    time {display: none !important;}
    /* Force word wrap so words don't leave their box */
    .entry-content {word-wrap: break-word !important;}
</style>

This code will make the tag <time> not display on the page we apply it to. It also makes sure that the class entry-content enforces word-wrap so that long URLs don't extend past their card.

It's a bit tech-y but if you're interested in these kinds of Squarespace customizations, send me a message and tell me what you'd like to learn about.
